Manali : Manali at a height of 6,398 ft, in the Beas River valley, is a popular hill station in the mountains of Himachal Pradesh. Manu Temple :

Manu Temple is located at old Manali, approx 3 kms from the Mall Road. The temple isManu Temple dedicated to the Indian sage Manu, who is said to be the creator of the world and the writer of Manusmriti. Though temple is situated in a congested area, visitors from across the world comes to see it. The beautiful location of Manu Temple, on the bank side of river Beas, adds to its attraction. The temple was rebuilt in the year 1992, when the vaulted ceiling and marble floors were added.


Hadimba Temple :

In Manali is one of the major tourist attractions comes in local tourist places. It is a four storey wooden temple. Located in the middle of dense forest Called Van Vihar and from the name of the forest only the temple drives its name. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Hadimba and was erected in 1553. There are lots of hotels in Manali which are nearby Hadimba temple.


Monasteries in Manali :

Manali also houses three Tibetan monasteries, that have been built recently. There are three recently built Tibetan monasteries at Manali. The Tibetans living around these Monasteries in Manali offer a vide range of Tibetan Handicrafts and Carpets to the visitors to buy. Two of these Monasteries are located in the main down-town of Manali and one Monastery in Aleo. Aleo is located on the Left Bank of River Beas in Manali.


Vashisht Temple Manali :

Vashist, a small village 3 kms from Manali located on the Left Bank of River Beas in Manali towards Rohtang pass is worth a visit, which is renowned for its Hot Water Springs and Temple. The village is also the site of some old temples, dedicated to the great sage Vashisht, and to Lord Rama. The Himachal Tourism sulphur baths are just beyond these shrines. Natural Hot Sulphur Water Springs with two separate bathing tanks for Gents and Ladies, which are always full of tourists. Turkish Style Showers fitted baths have also been built nearby. Hot water from the nearby Spring is provided for bathing.


Rohtang Pass Manali :

Rohtang Pass is 51 kms from Manali. Located at a height of 3980 Mtrs, on highway to Keylong/Leh. The Pass offers a panorama and spectacular mountain view. once served as a crucial trade route, and still remains the gateway to the districts of Lahaul and Spiti.The Pass is open from mid April to November each year, and provides wonderful views of the entire surroundings. Just beyond the Pass is the Sonapani Glacier and the twin peak of Gaypan. The Beas Kund, the source of the Beas river, a holy site for Hindus, as the sage Vyas is said to have meditated at this spot, is also accessible from the Rohtang Pass.


Solang Valley Manali :

Solang Valley in Manali is located at a distance of 13 kms in a side valley at the top of the Kullu valley is a splendid valley between Solang village and Beas Kund. Solang valley offers the view of glaciers and snow capped mountains and peaks. Solang Valley has fine ski slopes. The Mountaineering Institute of Manali has installed a ski lift for training purpose. Located here is a hut and guest house of the Mountaineering and Allied sports Institute, Manali. Now a few hotels have also come up. The winter skiing festival is organised in Solang Valley. Sking and Paragliding are two main activities are organised here. Apart from this many other adventure sports are available like Zorbing, Horse riding & Snow Motor Bikes riding etc.


Kothi :

Kothi situated at the foothill of Rohtang pass and is just 12 kilometers from Manali at an altitude of 2500 m. It offers a magnificent view of snow capped mountains and glaciers, the Beas river flow through a very deep and narrow gorge at this point. Kothi used to be a camping site when Rohtang pass had to be climbed on foot.


Kufri :

Kufri is the hottest spot to be during winters, because everyone lands up here to ski and throw snowballs at each other. Situated at distance of 16 km from Shimla and at an altitude of 2510 m above sea level it attracts bands of ski enthusiasts from all over the country drift from the snowy fields of Kufri to Narkanda in search of the finest ski slopes on which to flaunt their expertise. The Himalayan Nature Park here has a good collection of animals and birds found in the region


Fagu :

Fagu overlooking the Giri Valley , is situated on Hindustan-Tibet Road and is 23 kilometers from Shimla. Fagu is gifted with some enchanting views of the valley and distant Himalayas. Fagu also serves as entry point for Kinnaur and Spiti, and is an ideal trekking base.


Narkanda :

Situated at 66 kilometers from Shimla, on Hindustan Tibet road Narkanda, offers wonderful slopes for skiing. At an elevation of 9017 feet, it has dense pine forests. Hatu peak, 8 km from Narkanda, provides a striking panorama of the plains below. Narkanda offers spectacular views of snow ranges. In winters short skiing courses are organized


Chail :

Situated at 45 kilometers from Shimla, Chail is a lush green setting and was the former capital of the Patiala State. It has the world’s highest cricket ground at a height of 7220 feet situated in the cantonment area , as such, is out of bounds to civilians. There is a wildlife sanctuary at a distance of 3 km from here. It is one of the few notified regions in the state where humans and wild beasts live side by side. The Palace of Maharaja Of Patiala has been converted into the popular Palace Hotel. Chail is for leisurely walks in summer and autumn, and fun in the snow in winters,


Mashobra :

Situated on Shimla-Naldehra road 10 kilometers from Shimla at a height of 7700 feet. It is a place of unique beauty, and is an ideal interlude beneath the oaks and the pines. Featuring beautiful gardens it is a popular weekend spot, lined with innumerable picnic spots. Stone benches have been strategically placed all over the grassy knolls, where you can sit back and enjoy views of the Dhauladhar Range. About 3 km from Mashobra is the lovely resort of Craignano (7,800 feet)


Naldehra :

Naldehra, is situated at an altitude of 6706 feet and is 25 km from Shimla on Shimla- Tattapani road. Naldehra houses the oldest and the highest golf course in India. It is a famous picnic spot and one can have leisure pine lined forest walks and horse rides. Its beauty has attracted the film industry and this place has featured in many Hindi movies.


Tattapani :

It is 51 km from Shimla and well known for hot sulfurous springs. One can enjoy fishing and playing in the water.

Rock climbing at Manali :

The first and the basic step to mountain climbing is rock climbing. Slowly gaining popularity as a fun and exciting activity, rock climbing is not as simple as it may seem. Climbing a slab of rock, straight or craggy with use of only a rope and harness. The activity tests your patience and offers you a fun challenge. Depending on the height of the rock, the activity ranges from easy to slightly difficult. If you are Manali, this is one activity you just cannot miss. With proper training, you will climbing up difficult rocks in no time.


Manali Rafting :

River- rafting in manali is offered by private operators at Pirdi near Kullu where a water sports centre has been set up to provide the rafting services in manali for the tourists. Rafting in manali is available on stretches of the River Beas, where rapids of high grades can be negotiated. Rafting in kullu manali provides an exhilarating interlude fro enthusiasts. kayaking is possible at Pandoh Dam on the way to Mandi. Water rafting in Kullu manali is done on river Beas from Pirdi (4 kms ahead of Kullu town) down to Jhiri, on a stretch of approximately 14 kms. (Period Apr 15th-Jun end). The journey takes nearly one & half hour consisting of rapids from grade II & III. Rafting in Kullu Manali begins at around 10 o clock in the morning at Pirdi. Pirdi is 45 kms from Manali and hence, recommended starting time from Manali is 8 o clock. This activity will require one full day.

Trekking / Hiking in Solang Valley :

There are various hiking trails and trekking routes in and around Solang to name a few famous ones: Solang-Beas Kund Solang-Patalsu Solang-Kothi Solang-Anjani Mahadev Solang-Bhiraghu and many more... The trails around offer breathtaking views where one could be lost amongst a crop of flowers and soak in rumbling brooks or get mystified in one of the many waterfalls. Solang Ropeway :

The ropeway is the latest state of the art built by Poma of France, featuring 19 cabins with a seating capacity of 8 persons in each. It covers a distance of 1.3 km having a vertical rise of 500 meters and a top speed of 6 m/s. It is designed to carry 1200 passengers up the mountain in an hour. It has attachments to facilitate skiers and their equipment and easily accommodates all adventure sports gear for summer sports like paragliders and mountain bikes. Being the latest version of the gondola lifts it is inbuilt with multiple safety and security devices to ensure a smooth and secure travel. It is further operated by trained professionals who are at the service of their guests with zeal.


Paragliding in Solang Valley :

Christ Church :

Shimla, is one of the oldest church in North India. Built in the neo-Gothic style in 1857 to serve the largely Anglican British community in Shimla. Christ Church is situated on The Ridge and is one of the prominent landmarks of Shimla. The Pipe-Organ of Christ Church is one of the biggest in the Indian subcontinent and was erected in September 1899.


Mall Road Shimla :

Mall Road is a city centre area with a walking street with shops around. Mall road is closed for vehicular traffic. About 1 km long street, at one end of the Mall is The Clarkes hotel and the other end is the ridge and Christ Church. Mall Road in Shimla is perhaps the most happening of Mall Roads in all Hill stations in India and therefore a popular hang out place for a large number of regular getaway seekers from neighboring plains and for tourists to Shimla. Mall Road is accessible from Circular road via a lift. Mall road is extremely touristy and often gets crowded in evenings and therefore must be avoided by those who seek peace and tranquility.


Kali Bari Temple :

Kali Bari temple is a popular devi temple in Shimla at one end of the mall road.


Jakhoo Temple :

A Popular Lord Hanuman Temple a few kms away from Shimla and from where one gets views of the Shimla town. On a notorious side, bordering on a mini-experience is a set of mischievious monkeys that reside here and seem to pounce on anything loose (Can even by a handbag or a purse).


Indian Institute of Advanced Studies :

Institute of Advanced studies, an impressive colonial era building, takes one back in time. Its one of the historic places where India - Pakistan Partition pact was sealed. A guided tour is available of the area. It can also be a short walk from the Mall or just a hop away from whats popularly considered city centre.


Taradevi Temple :

Taradevi Temple, a Devi temple set on hilltop offering views of Shimla town and area around. Temple is popular with locals and tourists to the area.


Lakkar Bazar :

Lakkar Bazaar is known for wooden toys made by a small group of Sikh carpenters who settled there a century ago from Hoshiarpur. Purchase of Wooden walking sticks is popular with tourists.


Himachal State Museum :

Himachal State Museum has a rich display of the cultural, artistic and archaeological heritage of Himachal Pradesh. The various galleries in here include Pre-Historic Gallery, Wood-Carving Gallery Archaeology Gallery, Wall Painting Gallery, Coin Gallery, Pahari Painting Gallery, etc

Day 02: Manali Local sightseeing

On arrival in Manali, transfer to your hotel and check in. Today your Local sightseeing tour of Manali and around will start at 01:00 hrs. Proceed to Local sightseeing of Manali, Visiting the Hadimba Temple, unique for its pagoda architectural design located in the midst of a very old pine Forest. Then to visit the temple dedicated to Manu, a legendary man in the Hindu religion from whom the name Manali came. We circle back to Visit the Vashist Sulfur Hot Water Spring, and then to Tibetan Monastery, which is at the heart of the city. Evening return back to hotel. Day 03: Manali-Rohtang Pass Up To Snow Line (51 km)

After breakfast visit to Rohtang Pass/ Snow Point (Situated about 51 km from Manali town at an altitude of 4,111 meters (13,400 ft.) on the NH21 to Leh, is Rohtang Pass. Here one sees the majesty of the mountains at its height and splendor. At the top of the Pass the air seems to glitter against the snow as you look down over herringboned ridges into the Lahaul Valley. Day06: Shimla-Kufri (21 km)

Today after breakfast in the morning get ready to explore the hill queen heart Kufri, a lush green place and dense meadows. Enjoy the ride on the way to Kufri along fresh nature. Also enjoy horse riding there. In the evening get back to hotel at Shimla. • Overnight stay at hotel.

Day07: Shimla-Delhi (380 km, 09 hrs.)

Today after breakfast check out from hotel around 12:00 noon. You can keep your luggage in hotel locker room till your departure. Explore the shops at Mall Road and shop till your departure.
